viewing entry : Goodbyes and hadrian's wall

21/08/2006 10:23 by Dan

Food stop 11 at the Greenhead hotel. Given an excellent reception by Doug the owner. Randomly caught up with Julian and his son who are making an excellent crack of doing the Pennines in 12 days as well as Howard who we'd spent a few days walking with previously. Said goodbye to them and to Mick this morning. On our way along Hadrian's wall for our next stop, which should take us into Scotland.

Hey guys, as promised at Greenhead in the pub - a reminder of the suggested route up Ben Nevis. I mentioned the Carn Mor Dearg arete which takes you round the horseshoe - firstly climbing Carn Mor Dearg (another Munro) and then along the ridge to Nevis itself. A much more interesting walk than up the path!
Hope you made more of Hadrians Wall than we did - we had a good time but a few pretty pathetic days walking! Back in Glasgow now, maybe tackle some mountains myself.
good luck with the rest,
sho
